Fall Iaido Seminar at the Honbu Dojo

Our second Iaido seminar this year took place at the Honbu Dojo in Hechtel (Belgium). The hours flew by.

We focused on Ashi Waza, explored the fine details of suburi and put emphasis on Shoden Kata Mae. The second part was dedicated to the practice of the Kumite programme of Chi Ryu Iaido. These are technically challenging waza performed with a partner. Students focussed on rhythm, distance and adapting to changing partners.

Shihan Kathrin Siggelkow who led the seminar put a lot of emphasis on understanding the principles of Hanshi Bernaschewice’ teachings and their adaptions to the Kumi waza.
